“International Istanbul Furniture Fair-IIFF 2024”, one of the three largest fairs in the world in its field, started.

“We have increased our furniture exports by 730 per cent in the last 20 years”

Mustafa Gültepe stated that while global furniture exports increased by 220 per cent in the last 20 years, Turkey increased its furniture exports by 730 per cent in this period and continued his words as follows:

“All these developments are extremely valuable. When the 2023 data comes, we will see the effects of the global demand contraction in our sector more clearly. We have great expectations from our sector this year. We have set an export target of 10 billion dollars for our furniture, wood and forestry products sector this year. In 2028, we expect to increase our exports in this sector to 20 billion dollars. I think that our country has the potential to be among the top 5 furniture exporting countries in the world.”

I believe that our furniture sector, which exports to more than 200 countries and regions, will carry its success even further. In order to achieve this, promotion and marketing activities are of great importance. Istanbul Furniture Fair fills a big gap by bringing buyers and sellers together. It brings Turkish furniture together with the world. There was a very intense participation in our fair last year. I hope this year will also be a fruitful fair for our companies.”

“Nearly 1000 companies exhibit their products in a total area of 250 thousand square metres”

Şekib Avdagiç, President of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO), stated that they opened a very important fair and said, “I would like to underline one issue here. Istanbul’s two exhibition centres have implemented a revolutionary process in an evolutionary way. Here, with the rational approach of both exhibition centres and the positive contribution of the sector on this issue, this fair is currently the only fair held with two exhibition centres in Istanbul.”
